Day 4 - Magic Kingdom Part I

We were up nice and early for our 8:10am ADR (That’s advance dining reservation for the non DISers) We made this reservation 6 months in advanced. We got to the car park around 7:15am. We got a park right at the front and walked up to the TTC (Ticketing and Transportation Centre). We got a monorail to the front entrance of the Magic Kingdom. We took the left turnstiles for people with reservations and then headed up Main Street USA towards the Castle.

We checked in within 5 minutes and were led into the castle. We waited in short line to see Cinderella. I though Peyton would freak. She had been so excited about meeting the princesses but in the morning on the way there she was acting shy and moody and a bit teary. Well the Disney magic kicked in and the minute it was our turn she ran to Cindy with open arms and that was that! We did the meet and autographs, then the photos and headed up for breakfast. Breakfast was nice although you could tell they were in a hurry to put people through it didn’t feel like they rushed us. There was a little selection of pastries and fresh fruit on the table. Croissants, chocolate croissants and cinnamon rolls. Strawberries, rockmelon, honeydew melon and grapes. We had orange juice to drink although B didn’t want it and requested water which they happily obliged. Mum and I had the cream cheese stuffed French toast, Steve had the hot selection which was scrambles eggs, sausages, bacon and potatoes. The kids got a mickey shaped plate with eggs, bacon and French toast sticks. The kids also got a wand for Peyton and a sword for Brandon plus a wishing star each. The characters that came around were Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Jasmine, Ariel and Belle. It was an awesome experience and something I’d recommend you doing at least once.

After Breakfast we headed out to do some rides. We hit Cinderellas Carousel and Dumbo. Then we found Pinnochio then Fairy Godmother. After the obligatory photos and autographs we headed west. We had a mission. Brandon had been dying to go on Splash Mountain for the last 12 months. So Steve took him. Mum got chatting to a psychologist from Canada and Peyton and I went for a drink. So back to our mission. The standby line wasn’t very long so Steve and Brandon went right on. I made it back just in time to capture a photo.

Can you see him? Steve has the pink shirt on, Brandon is in yellow

The aftermath :(

Let’s just say it didn’t go down to well. He loved the ride except for the last bit. Steve said he burst into tears as the crested the hill. When you see him next, ask him if he wants to go on the “log ride” again....

Anyway a quick character meeting with his favourite Goofy soon cheered him up.

A trip back down Main Street to watch the parade and a ride on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, WDW Railroad and the Tomorrowland Speedway rounded off the first half of our day. We caught the monorail home for an afternoon nap.
