It's been awhile

Well it's been awhile since my last post.... Life gets a hold on us and things get neglected and left behind, but I've remembered my blog so here I am! In reality I was thinking about our fast approaching overseas holiday and how I could chronicle it for friends, family and even myself for future reference.

So........

We leave for our holiday to the USA tomorrow! I'm starting to panic, actually I've been panicking for a week. Panicking and procrastinating. Am I packed? No. Have I got all our documents together? No. Have I booked everything? Yes, well I can think of one thing I'd like to pre-pay but it's not essential so I'll see if I get around to it. I have a list on my iPhone of things to do today and I have a hand written list in the kitchen of things I need to get at the shops. I am still sure I will forget something but I need to learn to go with the flow and realise you cannot control every aspect of your life. Basically shit happens and you need to make the most of it.

I wanted to write about my new camera. I made the trek to JB-Hi Fi at World Square and got it within about 3 days of it's release. None of the suburban stores out here in the west had any, nor were they expecting stock anytime before my departure. Anyway so here it is:

Panasonic Lumix FT3

Its a tough durable camera which is what I need. Here are some quick stats:

Waterproof to 12m
Sand/Dust Proof
Freeze Proof  to -10 Degrees
Shock/Drop Proof to 2m
12.1 Megapixels
4.6 x Optical Zoom
3D Photo Mode
Full HD Video Recording
GPS, Compass, Altimeter, Barometer

Its built in GPS records the exact position you are when you take a photo. It also recognises when you are in a different locale and changes things like timezones etc. Pretty damn cool if you ask me. What I like best about this camera was the waterproof/dust proof/drop proofness of it. Especially as my littlest little person loves cameras and will swipe any she sees to take random photos of shoes, lint, toast, model horses, feet....

I have had a quick play around and so far it is ok but I will post a more detailed review at a later date.
