Hong Kong Day 4

First off I know I have been a terrible blogger but around here we have something known as "birthday season" Most of my circle of friends have children between the ages of 0-7 and 90% of their birthdays fall between October and January. When we got back from HK we kicked off birthday season with B's 5th and then my 26th rolling into November with two more birthdays and the start of Christmas parties, end of year dance concert rehearsals, athletics, swimming lessons etc. Then came Christmas, New Year and on Friday was P's 4th birthday. We had another party Saturday, an athletics gala day today and another party Tuesday. It won't take long for me to finish off the Hong Kong blog posts. Just Day 4 and 5 to go. Then I can start writing more about out upcoming trip in just 111 days!

Ok so my memory is obviously hazy but I will let the photos tell most of the story.

We woke up nice and early with the usual hotel breakfast. We then headed off for our big and final Disney day. When we arrived we found all the rides and attractions to be open and operating! Yay!

Walt on the train on the Disneyland line train

The Jungle cruise was our first ride and it was a lot of fun. Our guide was hilarious in his over acting and his good but heavily accented English. The special effects are very good and I think it is my favourite Jungle cruise out of all Disney parks so far. I got wet and so did my camera. Lucky it is waterproof.

Jungle Cruise

There was a lot of fun Halloween theming and Steve was right into it.

LOL!

We met a few characters.

Next we watched the Golden Mickeys. We saw the original on the Disney Dream in May and this one is very similar but funny as we couldn't understand a word. It is translated into English on screens at the side of the stage. It is also hearing the characters speak in their voices in another language.

I got these surprisingly yummy nachos whilst waiting for Steve to ride Space Mountain. I think the yuminess comes from that fake cheese!

Next we lined up to meet Buzz. I remember while we waited we rang home to speak to the kids. I think we told them we were watching TV in the hotel. They would've killed us if they knew what we were really up to!

Next we ride the Astro Blasters. I'm pretty sure I kicked Steve's butt! We had Fast Passes for this and they are just like the ones in WDW.

Then we rode the Astro Orbiter which is different to the ones in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. First it its called the Obitron, second it is doesn't go as high and seems more like Dumbo and third the cars are round like flying saucers instead of like rocket ships.

You get to the front of the line and they put you in a small "holding area and give you a number" this is the car you get in. It shows where the car is located as well. You hand it back to the CM when they check seat belts etc,

With nothing better to do we lined up for about 45mins for the Tomorrowland Speedway. It was nice and scenic. It was pretty funny as Steve's car conked out and it took ages for a CM to realise. They had to go and start his motor back up. I was wondering what took him so long.

We then met some lovely princesses who were perfect.

For Halloween they had extra attractions. The first we did was the Haunted Hotel. It was basically a tour through various areas in the hotel where people leapt out and scared the bejeezus out of you. Well me anyway!

This is what we had for dinner. It was pretty gross.

Some Halloween theming

Then it was time for the parade. I loved this parade. It was the Hong Kong Disneyland Glow in the Dark Parade. It started with the headless horseman, pretty dodgy but ok. Then the parade started led by Jack Skellington. Sooo cool! Heres a good video. The whole time I was watching I was thinking whats the deal with "Har, Har, Har" it had me quite amused. You'll hear it here:

Then my camera died. But as soon as the parade was over we headed to do the Revenge of the Headless Horseman. Another people making you jump thing. Pretty lame and not really worth the hour wait but it was all part of the experience. We then left the park before the fireworks. We were tired and had to pack for our departure the next day.
