Where do I start? I ended up going to bed very early Sunday morning around 1:30am. My alarm went off at 4:30am and I snoozed for about 10 minutes then hit the shower. We were picked up by Hills Airport Shuttle about 6:40am and got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The airport was packed and I soon found out our flight was full to capacity! We had some delicious (not) Maccas for breaky and let the kiddos run around in the playground in between watching planes.
We flew V Australia and I must say they were pretty awesome. There was a nice little kit when we got to our seats with a pillow, blanket, eye mask/earplugs and a headset. The IFE system was amazing. I watched the latest Narnia movie and listened to Nirvana, Steve watched the latest Big Momma movie and the kids watched Gnomeo and Juliet, Tangled, Yogi Bear movie and playhouse Disney shows. The food was plentiful and edible. We got lunch not long after we hit cruising altitude.
Kids got:
Rissoles with tomato sauce, Mash, Peas
Potato Salad (Delicious!), Chicken Loaf Slices garnished with lettuce and tomato
Banana Cake
Mars Bar
We Got:
Lamb Casserole, Mash, Peas
Cous Cous Salad
Banana Cake
Then they did assorted Smiths Chips. Then they did bread rolls - chicken/lettuce or cheese salad
Then not long before we landed we were served breakfast.
Kids:
Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Baked Beans, Tomato
Crossaint/Butter/Jam
Ski Yoghurt
Orange Juice
Kit Kat
Grown Ups:
Spinach Frittata, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Tomato
Crossaint/Butter/Jam
Ski Yoghurt
Orange Juice
The flight wasn't terrible and the kids were only a little zooey. Brandon started melting down about 4 hours out from LAX but it was just crying then stopping. Overall the flight was ok but still very stressfull. The only real complaint is the seats are soooo hard. My arse is still aching!
Anyway we are here now at the Holiday Inn Express LAX and I cannot praise the enough. We arrived at 9:00am and official check in here is 3:00pm (OMG) but the amazing desk girls got us into a room by 10:00am they also told us to go have the complimentary breakfast while we waited. The nicest thing so far has been the little gift bag they gave us for each of the kids with a new puzzle each, a few fun size chocolates and a Capri Sun and Kool Aid each. Anyhow the rest of the gang are catching up on much needed zzzz's and I may have to follow suite. Considering none of us got more than 2 or 3 hours sleep and we are still on Sydney time which means it is 4:10am. I am hoping to nap for about 4 hours then head off to Culver City Westfields for a dawdle around.
Yay!! You made it, looking forwadr to more of your blog!! Have fun
