Day 22 - Disembarkation and Orlando Area

Today was a sad day =( We were leaving our beloved Mickey boat. We had the alarms set for nice and early as  we had an early start at breakfast. As our luggage was taken the night before all we had to do was get dressed and pack our carry ons. We said a final farewell to our room and headed down to breakfast. It was Animators Palette, same as the night before. There was a nice little selections of hot items which was fine. Peyton on the other hand requested Fruit Loops and they were delivered. It was a fairly hurried affair and we left and walked straight off the boat.

Luggage claim was pretty easy with luggage sorted in groups by character (we had Goofy). We found it all and headed out of the terminal. We saw our bus straight away and we hopped on for the short ride back to the Country Inn and Suites. We went to our car and loaded it up and headed down the road to see if we could spot some Manatees. Well we did. You couldn't see them clearly as the water was pretty murky but you could see them breaching the water really close to the shore.

After that we were stuck on what to do so I suggested an air boat ride at Boggy Creek. I'm glad we did cause it was so much fun. We got there and it was only about a half an hour wait until our turn. We stood around and looked at the water and got ready with the kids in life jackets and all of us with ear protection. I was quite fascinated by the street lights that lined the creek on the way into the docks. We shared our tour with a couple and their young son so there was only 8 people on board which was nice. The ride was fun and the kids enjoyed it. Our guide was great and quite informative. We were shown bird life and we found an alligator nest with tiny babies. Then we went for a spin around the wetlands before heading back. When we got off there was a guy from some alligator protection place doing photos with a baby alligator to raise money for the cause. Of course we forked out the cash and got the photos. It was pretty cool. Peyton even went first.

After Boggy Creek we went and found our accommodation for the night. The Pointe Orlando Resort. We had a nice 2 bedroom apartment with views of Universal from our balcony. After we checked in we went to check out Chucky Cheese. Well the kids loved it. For us Aussies it is like a Timezone like place with games and kiddies rides (think the ones in the shops at home) where you buy tokens and use them to win tickets on the games to cash in for prizes at the end. They also sell food, mainly pizza but also buffalo wings and they have a salad bar. The tokens are cheap a lot cheaper than Timezone over here. We easily spent most of the afternoon here. The kids want to go back when we go next year.

After Chucky Cheese we went back to the Pointe and the kids napped and I caught up on washing. We went and got KFC (not that great) for dinner and packed again for our flights out the following night. We decided on a sleep in the next morning and then to head of the the Magic Kingdom for a few hours.
