Flights of Fantasy Parade
Here are the photos I took of the Flights of Fantasy Parade. They're not the best but you get the idea. I thought it was a pretty awesome parade! I won't give a running commentary but let the pictures speak for themselves.
Hong Kong Day 3
Today was our first Disney day. We had our breakfast at the hotel as usual and headed to catch the MTR to Disney. We had to swap at Central and again at Sunny Bay but it was all very easy.
As soon as you got on the train you knew you were in Disney, with the Mickey windows etc. We got there and Steve went to guest services to exchange our online printouts for tickets. I had mistakenly purchased both a two day pass and a Halloween ticket. At Hong Kong Disney the Halloween events are included in your entry if you enter on a Halloween event day. They refunded our Halloween tickets and we were good to go.
I had taken a few photos and then my memory card was full. I realised I hadn't cleared it in ages. After a mini panic attack we realised there is a photo store right at the start of Main Street. I went and purchased a new memory card and a crisis was averted! Well it turned out that there was a typhoon warning. Signal 3 had been raised and that meant Disney closed all outdoor attractions. This meant everything even the Carousel. It was really annoying as it didn't rain and it was only slightly breezy. This also meant the hoards of people that would have been spread over the entire park was now in line for the few indoor attractions. We did Mickey's Philharmagic, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear and Steve did Space Mountain.
We then went and saw Festival of the Lion King. We had about a 45 minute wait for this. The show was good. Different to the one at Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World but still very good. We then waited over an hour for the Stitch adventure which was like Turtle Talk with Crush. It is funny but definitely not worth the hour wait. As we came out it was time for the parade which I though was brilliant. After the parade I didn't want to wait for It's a Small World and I decided we'd see the Golden Mickeys the next day so we made some purchases along Main Street and headed back to the hotel to decide what was for dinner.
Well I decided we would try Din Tai Fung for dinner. It is a pretty renowned restaurant and is rated number 1 on Trip Advisor and it also has a Michelin Star. We caught a cab to the Silvercord shopping centre where Din Tai Fung is and we took a number for a long wait. We said we'd share a table but they decided to put us at a table alone. We probably waited 15 minutes which was pretty good. Well we ordered waaaaaay to much food but it was all so so delicious. I have since found out they have a branch in Sydney and I will be stopping there next time I'm in the city. Anyway we had the famous pork soup dumplings (my favourite), pork and prawn dumplings, pork and vegetable dumplings (my least favourite), noodle soup with pork chop, spinach with garlic, prawn fried rice (also delicious) and a steamed pork bun. Like I said way, way too much food but all delicious.
